Activities

At St. Michael’s Summer Camp, boys pray hard and play hard!  St. Michael’s is a very active camp.  Events range from traditional sports to unique activities peculiar to our own camp culture.  Just a few examples include:

    -  Sports (soccer, baseball, ultimate frisbee, etc.)

    -  Nationball (a camp favorite)

    -  Hiking

    -  Obstacle Course

    -  Swimming (Red Cross certified swimming lessons included)

    -  Battle Frisbee

    -  Tarantula Hunting

    -  Campfire

    -  Waterwars

    -  Stink-Bug hunt and race

    -  Arts & Crafts

Operated and staffed by the Fathers and seminarians of St. Michael’s Abbey, St. Michael's Summer Camp offers many chances for the boys to learn more about their faith and grow closer to God.  In particular, this includes:

    -  Daily Mass

    -  Daily Rosary

    -  Daily Catechism (sometimes twice a day)

    -  Weekly opportunity for confession (with preceding instruction)

    -  Opportunity for altar boy instruction and service

    -  Blessing and giving of Brown Scapulars

    -  Instruction in proper Church etiquette

    -  Weekly Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament

“How do you pick one thing?  Waterwars, tarantula hunting, sports, sports, sports, swimming, serving at Mass… They talked all the way home and into the evening.  ‘Wish we could have gone last year and before… Can we go next year?!!’”

      - a parent on what her            son liked most about            St. Michael's

“Our son loved it.  The first thing he said to me (in a whisper) was he now understands the meaning of ‘God made us to know love and serve Him in this world and to be happy with Him forever in Heaven.’ As far as I’m concerned, that made the week worthwhile—dare I say life-changing.”                               — a parent’s testimony
